Data Center
Security:
- Secure Atlanta, Georgia based facilities, with current SAS 70 Type II certificate.
- Physical access restricted to named, preapproved, and physically recognized people only. No automated access methods. All guests are logged, escorted & tracked.
- Multiple firewalls on each server - penetration testing performed monthly. All servers contain regularly updated virus/trojan detection software.
Compute & Storage:
- All Servers are HP Quad Core, optimized for small file handling. We process many million emails every day and scale each system to provide optimal performance for each hosted client.
- Over 280TB of high speed RAID storage, featuring: EMC Centera WORM, NexSan SATA-Beast, various HP storage arrays populated with SAS 15K & 10K disks, ReadyNas Pro & LeftHand.
Redundancy, Connectivity & Backups:
- All systems are fully redundant with dual power supplies and fans, connected to UPS, with automated failover. All racks are power balanced ensuring maximum availability in case of partial power feed failure. Facility is backed up by diesel generator. System is tested weekly.
- Data center connectivity is supplied via 100MB/sec dual redundant Metro-Ethernet. All server feeds are through fully redundant routers and switches. Email feeds map to both our primary and secondary data centers simultaneously, with asynchronous replication, in unlikely event of facility access issues.
- Backups: Not a tape drive in sight!! All retained data is replicated, and "deletes" are checked and then executed on the backups to ensure that when you want it purged, it is purged from both primary and secondary storage. We ensure there are no random undocumented pools of information that can come back to haunt you at a later stage.
While backing up to disk is more expensive for us, if you have a problem, then it means we can get you back on your feet more quickly. Our primary concerns are data security, performance and availability.
