More comprehensive than just searching for keywords or phrases, Message Manager Supervision uses sophisticated natural language content analysis technology to analyze the content of email messages, in addition to providing an open lexicon system. For example, Message Manager Supervision can differentiate between any uses of "sue": "sue" the threat of legal action and, "Sue" the individual.
Through natural language content analysis and an open lexicon system, Message Manager Supervision provides the best of both worlds, with the most accurate and consistent methods available to identify and flag message content that has potential infringements with either internal policies or federal regulations (i.e. SEC, NASD, and NYSE, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, etc.). Message Manager Supervision can flag suspicious content in pre- or post-event mode. In pre-event mode, when unacceptable or suspect content is found, Message Manager Supervision can stop it from leaving the company's email flow and can route the message to a quarantined queue for review by an appropriate supervisor or administrator. In post-event mode, when suspicious content is found, it routes the message to a supervisor after the message is already sent. Pre- and post-event mode can be set by direction and at the individual level.
To satisfy archiving requirements, Message Manager Supervision stores messages on Write Once Read Many (WORM) devices or on online media such as IBM Total Storage DR 450, NetApp SnapLock, EMC Centera Compliance Edition and Permabit Permeon.
